This was suppose to be Strap hung gutters, but we removed the old crown molding and installed a 2x6 facia to mount the gutters to and made it much more secure and a better system to install Leaf-X on.

Why are there icicles hanging from my gutters?

Does the water even go in the gutter? Doesn't it just go over the top?

A very vulnerable area often missed is where the gutter meets a wall, either against the siding or J-Channel. A deflector to direct the water from those areas into the gutter is the best way to prevent water dripping and future deterioration.
