Why running out excessively long gutters is a bad idea in our climate (not our job)

We found these gutters on a different storage building next to the one we were working on.  Not sure who installed them but the building was probably about 200 feet long and in one piece. We have such vast temperature ranges and the gutter expands and contracts so much that the weak area is found and actually rips the gutter.  It was ripped in 3 different areas.

Does the water even go in the gutter? Doesn't it just go over the top?

A very vulnerable area often missed is where the gutter meets a wall, either against the siding or J-Channel. A deflector to direct the water from those areas into the gutter is the best way to prevent water dripping and future deterioration.
